Did you know that making sunglasses chains with beads can be a lot of fun? The possibilities are endless! Do you opt for a uniform color or a wonderful colorful mix of beads? And which beads do you choose? Small beads such as seed beads (approx. 2 - 3 mm) are very popular for a beaded sunglasses chain. Or do you prefer something else? Cowrie shell beads, letter beads and freshwater pearls are also very pretty beads that go well with the current trends.

Let's start with the DIY tutorial! We made a sunglasses chain with colorful seed beads. The seed beads are threaded one after the other, creating a beautiful and colorful pattern. Eyeglass holders (transparent gold)

Seed beads (3 mm)

Waxed cord cotton (0.3 mm)

Jump rings (4 x 0.8 mm)

Bail beads

Crimp beads (1.5 mm) and crimp bead covers (4 mm)

• Charms: enamel smiley face charm, shell charm, charm cowrie shell ,enamel charm mix fruit

Sunglasses chain with satin cord

Sunglasses chain with... a cord? Of course! For example, with a satin cord. A satin cord feels soft and is excellent to work with. And it’s very easy, just wait and see.

Cut the desired length of satin cord from the spool. An average length for a glasses strap is about 93 cm. Attach the eyeglass holders to the end caps using jump rings. Then put some jewelry glue in the end caps and fit the two ends of the satin cord into these end caps. Wait the recommended drying time and your satin cord sunglasses chain is ready!

For this type of sunglasses chain, it is important that you choose open backed kauri shell beads rather than closed backed ones. The open backed cowrie shell beads are very easily strung onto the cord.
